Information Technology

Do you run your computer system or does it run you?

Are your employees making good use of the information systems available to them – do they really know what is available to them?

If you are looking for expertise in the technical specifications of your systems, there are a myriad of companies that can assist you in this effort.  However, without a clear understanding of the layman’s requirements that the system must meet, the benefits of a top of the line technical system are limited. Do you know if your employees waste energy utilizing the IT systems’ “shortcuts” because they do not understand how to use the system to the best advantage?  Do your senior people have a good understanding of how all the pieces of the system fit together and all the capabilities available to them?  Are they communicating this knowledge to the proper employees through the company?  Most importantly, do the pieces fit together, and does the system provide the specific type of information, in the form necessary, to exploit your database?  Often a company can benefit more from having its employees make better use of an existing system than from simply upgrading to the latest and greatest (and repeating this process every few years).  On the other hand, some companies truly lack the necessary IT tools to compete in the 21st century.  Which category does your company fall into today?
